During the time of world war, televisions weren't invented and so media and propaganda had to result to using posters and radio for their news on World War 1. However, the use of animation could also be used as a way to tell news as it can show devastating events without using the actual footage of the event. For example, the Lusitania was an American ship which got struck by German submarines and killed America's most important celebrities at the time, and because that this devastating event happened in the middle of the ocean nobody could show footage of the event and what it would've looked like, whereas animation can create the scene with drawings and can even exaggerate how disastrous the event was.
